India, at this point of time cannot afford any injury setback and they survived a massive scare before the start of Day 2 of the 3rd Test match. Ahead of the start of play, Indian seamer, Akash Deep gave a mini setback to the Indian side as he looked in some discomfort.

The first day's play was abandoned due to the relentless rain in Brisbane. There were rain predictions for Day 2 as well, but the match started on time, and ahead of the play, the India seamer had some issues with his fingers as he regularly pointed at it during the warm ups.

He was seen with the Indian physio as he monitored Akash Deep's injured finger. However, the pacer rubbed it off and started the morning with a couple of lovely deliveries to Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney.

Despite the injury concern, Akash Deep looked sharp and bowled at right lines and lengths as India search for their first wicket.

Indian bowlers lacked cutting-edge on Day 1

Opting to bowl first on a green top and under dark clouds, the Indian bowlers failed to make a mark and allowed the Aussie openers to settle in well. Akash Deep was the pick of the bowlers on Day 1 as he bowled at right lines and lengths and constantly was in the head of the Australian openers before rain ruined the day.

However, on the morning of Day 2, the bowlers got it right and Jasprit Bumrah knocked over Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney to bring India back in the contest.
