The wait is almost over as the Women's Premier League (WPL) mini auction will take place on December 15, Sunday. 5 teams will fight it out to assemble a strong squad ahead of the next season.

It is to be noted that this is a mini-auction which means that most of the key players are already retained by their respective franchises. Which means, only a handful of slots are left and the mini loopholes will be filled in during the auction.

In this piece, we look at 3 players who could fetch big amount in the auction as teams will try and sign the best in the business.

3) Lauren Bell

One of the best pace bowlers in the T20 format, Lauren Bell is a household name in England and has done exceptionally well for them. She can swing the ball both ways and also has the surprise bouncers which can surprise any batter.

Teams like Delhi Capitals can target her as they don't have a front-line foreign pacer in their squad. In 27 T20Is, the pace bowler has racked up 35 wickets, at an economy of just 6.98

2) Deandra Dottin

One of the most explosive batters going around in the game's shortest format, Deandra Dottin's time in WPL was marred with controversies. She was omitted from the Gujarat Titans squad despite landing a 60 lakh contract, and was subsequently unsold the following year.

However, this could be her chance to grab a WPL deal as several teams need an explosive player and she fits in the bill perfectly. In the recently concluded T20 World Cup, she scored 120 runs, at a strike-rate of 162.16, which was the best for any batter who faced at-least 20 balls.

1) Heather Knight

One of the stars of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women's team, Knight was a part of the Royals in the first season, but she withdrew from the second season owning to national duties.

Knight's attribute as an all-rounder, a leader and one of the best T20 batters maker her a valuable asset and several teams will try and get her services. She can also be a good captaincy candidate for a team like UP Warriorz. Alyssa Healy was under a bit of pressure in the last season and she could get some help from her English arch-rival.
