New Zealand have registered an impressive 21-run win over a young South African unit in their first game of the tri-series in New Zealand. There were plenty of interesting moments in the game, and one of them was the battle between Matt Henry and Dewald Brevis.

Herny has been one of New Zealand's premier bowlers in white-ball cricket for a long time and did his job in this game too with three wickets. One of those wickets was of Dewald Brevis, the youngster who has been in red-hot form in the last year or so.

The two came against each other in the 12th over of South Africa's innings. The Proteas were 85 for five at the end of 11 overs and had a target of 174 in front of them. Brevis was batting on 19 off 12 balls and was looking to unleash. So, on the first ball, as Matt Henry bowled it full on off. Brevis lofted it over long off for a sixer. On the next ball, two were taken with a pull towards the deep mid-wicket region.

The third delivery was a slower one on the shorter side, and Brevis picked the length early to pull it all the way over deep mid-wicket for the second maximum of the over. Brevis managed two runs after the dot on the fourth delivery but went for a big shot again on the final ball which led to his downfall.

It was a similar kind of delivery that he smashed for a six a couple of balls back. So, he went for another pull shot, but mistimed it to long on, and Daryl Mitchell stationed there took an easy catch. It was a big blow for South Africa as they needed Brevis to bat till the end, but despite two sixes in the over, he went for another one and paid a heavy price.

As a result, South Africa were eventually bowled out for just 152 and New Zealand managed to start the tri-series on a winning note.
