Virat Kohli retired from T20Is on June 29 2024, after India's T20 World Cup victory. He has now retired from Tests too; however, one year after his T20I retirement, ICC has now updated Virat's highest-ever T20I ratings from 897 to 909. As a result, the Indian star is now the first player to achieve 900+ ratings points in the ICC rankings in all three formats.

Kohli, with ratings of 909, is now third in the ICC's list of all-time T20I rankings after Dawid Malan and Suryakumar Yadav. Malan has career-best ratings of 919, while Suryakumar Yadav has 912. For Virat Kohli, his highest rating points are in Test cricket, where he achieved 937 points; in ODIs, his career-best rating is 911.

Virat Kohli's Dominance In ICC Rankings Highlights Success Across Formats

The achievement of having over 900 rating points in all three formats speaks a lot about the dominance of Virat Kohli across three formats. The cricketer captained India in all three formats and was the pillar of India's batting line for more than a decade.

The right-handed batter from Delhi played 125 T20Is. He scored 4188 runs at a stunning average of 48.69 and strike-rate of 137.04. In 123 Test matches, he scored 9230 runs at an average of 46.35, which included 30 centuries. He is still active in ODIs and has over 14000 runs in the format with 51 hundreds.

Virat Kohli's Long History Of Accolades

Overall, he is among the few Indian cricketers to score centuries in all three formats. ICC has also rewarded Virat Kohli on many occasions in the last 15 years. He was the ICC Cricketer of the Year in 2017 and 2018 and also has Test and ODI cricketer of the year awards to his name.

He has won the ODI as well as the T20 World Cups in his career and has also has two ICC Champions Trophies in his cabinet. Thus, Virat Kohli has created an unmatched legacy over the years, and this new rating of 909 in all-time T20I rankings is another feather in his cap.
