Tilak Varma played a responsible knock of 49 from 34 balls, including 4 fours and a six, building crucial partnerships with Abhishek and later with Sanju Samson, who delivered a quickfire 39 off 23 balls with 3 sixes. 

Samson’s aggressive cameo shifted momentum in India’s favour during the middle overs. Extras contributed 14 runs, while Sri Lanka’s bowlers, including Thushara, Theekshana, and Hasaranga, shared the wickets.
