In a significant turn of events, Pakistan Cricket Broad (PCB) has named the team of PSL 2023 comprising the best players from the tournament. Veteran pacer Shaheen Afridi, who led Lahore Qalandars to title, has been named the skipper of the side. Besides picking 19 wickets, Afridi showcased his hard-hitting prowess with the bat, amassing 133 runs, including a fifty, at a blistering strike rate of 168.35.

Pakistan captain Babar Azam and his deputy Mohammad Rizwan have been picked as the openers. Both enjoyed stellar success with the bat in the tournament.

While Babar garnered 522 runs, Rizwan topped the run-getters' list with 550 runs at a magnificent strike rate of 142.85. Young Mohammad Haris, who scored 350 runs in the tournament, is slotted at number three.

The middle order looks rock-solid, studded with Rilee Rossouw (453 Runs), Azam Khan (282 Runs, SR: 161.14), Kieron Pollard (260 Runs, SR: 163.52) and Imad Wasim (404 Runs and nine wickets).

On the other hand, the bowling unit seems formidable, comprising the top three wicket-takers of the PSL this season, Abbas Afridi (23 Wickets), Ihsanullah (22 Wickets) and Rashid Khan (20 Wickets).

Emerging star Saim Ayub, who played a key role for Peshawar Zalmi, scoring 341 runs, has been named the 12th man.

Meanwhile, Fakhar Zaman, who top-scored for the champions Lahore Qalandars, hasn't found a place in the team.
