Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has raised its concerns over International Cricket Council's (ICC) new proposed revenue-sharing model for the upcoming 2024-2027 cycle. PCB Chairman Najam Sethi has asked ICC to provide more clarity over the financial model, where the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gets the major chunk of the ICC earned revenue.

As reported by ESPNcricinfo, BCCI will earn 38.5 per cent, as opposed to PCB's 5.75 per cent, with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket Australia (CA) pocketing 6.89 and 6.25 per cent, respectively.

Speaking to Reuters, Sethi demanded ICC give their basis for these numbers. The upcoming ICC Board meeting next month will decide on the financial model.

Here's what Sethi said

"We are insisting that the ICC should tell us how these figures were arrived at. We are not happy with the situation as it stands. Come June, when the board is expected to approve the financial model, unless these details are provided to us, we are not going to approve it, In principle, India should get more, there is no doubt about that but ... how is this table being developed?"

Out of the total ICC revenue, all 12 full-members sides would together get 88.81 per cent of the pie, while the remaining will be distributed within associate nations. It might be noted that India generates as much as 80 per cent of ICC's revenue, which comes from BCCI.

Interestingly, the ICC's Finance and Commercial Affairs Committee is headed by BCCI and Asian Cricket Council President Jay Shah.
