The 10-team tournament began in 2008 and is its 16th edition, having grown exponentially across all departments. The addition of two new teams last year ignited a spark in the original franchises that laid the groundwork for what the IPL is today, a multimillion-dollar entity.
However, with the BCCI selling the media rights for the IPL last year, fans have needed help finding the best platform to enjoy the league and join in the festivities it promises. Viacom 18 brought digital rights, while Star Network retained TV rights.

IPL 2023 on Jio Cinema
The ongoing edition of IPL 2023 is being live-streamed on Jio Cinema for free. Viewers can enjoy 4k quality cricket over their mobile phone through the Jio Cinema app and also choose to play it on their smart TV via the Chromecast app.
However, Jio Cinema will only work on an India-based phone number. Digital users can access the match from the JioCinema website as well.
Fans will have as many as 12 regional languages to pick from for commentary and view the match from multiple camera angles, making it an immersive experience.
Additionally, Jio sim users with 5G connectivity can watch these for free without any data package.
You can only enjoy this free service until the end of the IPL 2023, after which all league editions will be charged as per their new subscription model.
