Delhi Capitals went down to Rajasthan Royals by 57 runs in Guwahati. Chasing 200, the Capitals managed only 142 in response, with skipper David Warner taking up 55 balls to score a sluggish 65 at the top of the order.

The defeat marked their third successive, as they have yet to register their first win of the ongoing IPL 2023 season. Earlier in the tournament, they lost to Lucknow Super Giants by 50 runs and then to Gujarat Titans with almost two overs to spare.

Parth Jindal questions team’s batting intent

Delhi Capitals Chairman Parth Jindal took to Twitter and slammed the team's batters for their shortcoming against Rajasthan Royals in the run-chase. Jindal is one of the influential figures within the JSW Group, a multinational conglomerate and co-owners of the Delhi Capitals franchise.

He highlighted the team's third straight defeat of the season and criticised the players for their recent loss against the Royals. The 32-year-old businessman claimed that the team did not show enough intent with the bat while chasing a 200-run total, as they fell short of their task by 57 runs despite batting out their 20 overs.

Jindal also added that he believes in his Capitals bunch of putting up a better performance going ahead, as they take on fellow strugglers Mumbai Indians in their next fixture on April 11 in Delhi.

Much like the Delhi Capitals, five-time winners Mumbai Indians are also yet to open their account on the points table this season.
