In a one-sided encounter, Rajasthan Royals comprehensively defeated Delhi Capitals by a whopping 57 runs in Match 11 of the Indian Premier League at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati. The victory has propelled the Royals to the top of the league table with two wins in three games, marking a remarkable resurgence following a narrow five-run loss against the Punjab Kings in their previous encounter.

Rajasthan Royals' charismatic captain, Sanju Samson, was positively ecstatic after the match, as he extolled the virtues of his team's flawless execution of their game plan. He also took a moment to praise the spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin for their skillful bowling with the wet ball, which proved pivotal in securing the victory.

Samson, in a lighthearted moment, conceded that his own performance with the bat had not gone according to plan, as he struggled to get going. However, he emphasized that his role in the team was clearly defined and that he had full faith in his ability to contribute when it mattered most.

He further noted that in the previous game at the same venue, the team had faced significant challenges in keeping the ball dry due to the wet conditions. However, the team had made the necessary adjustments and adapted to the conditions, with Chahal and Ashwin displaying their expertise in handling the wet ball with aplomb.

“Almost everything went to plan. I think me not scoring runs didn't go plan (laughs). The way I play this format I take a few balls to settle in and then go out there and express myself. Last game when we played here, it was a swimming pool and we were not able to keep the ball dry. We will have to get used to wet balls. Yuzi and Ash bhai know how to do it with the wet ball. I think Ashwin is always looking at the batter."

Earlier in the game, Rajasthan set a massive target of 200 with sizeable contributions from Jos Buttler, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and a quickfire cameo at the end by Shimron Hetmyer. Delhi struggled to chase and crawled to 142/9 with David Warner's slow fifty not enough to bridge the gap.

Looking ahead, the Rajasthan Royals will be brimming with confidence following their emphatic victory and will be keen to carry their momentum into their next game against the formidable Chennai Super Kings, led by the legendary MS Dhoni. The highly anticipated clash is scheduled to take place at the iconic MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Wednesday, the 12th of April.
