Why Pant shouldn't be in Dream11 Teams [Source: AP Photo]
The 13th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will take place between the Lucknow Super Giants and the Punjab Kings at the Ekana Stadium, Lucknow. Both the teams won their last match and will be oozing with confidence heading into this encounter on Tuesday.
The clash will also witness two former Delhi Capitals captain collide with each other as Rishabh Pant will take on Shreyas Iyer. While Iyer scored a classy 97* in Punjab's last game, Pant has looked scratchy and is yet to fire in the tournament. Hence, here are 3 key reasons why you shouldn't pick Pant in your Dream11 Fantasy teams.
1) Current form goes against him
Pant was made the captain of the LSG side, and expectations were high with the former LSG skipper, but so far, things have not gone in his way in terms of batting performance.

As the numbers suggests, Pant has been mediocre in the IPL 2025 season currently. In 2 matches, he has scored just 15 runs, and also has a duck registered in his name. Currently, form is not on his side and the trend is likely to continue and this is a key reason why he could be a disastrous pick.
2) Poor record against Punjab Kings
The main reason why picking Pant could be a blunder is due to his record against the Punjab Kings. He has been average against them and has not delivered the goods, something which could play on his mind tonight.
Criterion | Data |
Matches | 14 |
Runs | 198 |
Strike-rate | 121.47 |
50s/100s | 0/0 |
(Pant stats Vs PBKS)
Just 198 runs in 14 matches, with a strike-rate well below his overall IPL strike-rate, Pant has been underewhelming against today's opponent and has failed to play single match-winning knock, and hence, he could be a risky pick in the Dream11 fantasy teams.
3) The Chahal factor which could trouble him
The battle between Pant and Yuzvendra Chahal has been an interesting one in the IPL. It has been a see-saw battle with both the stars dominating each other in different games. Pant has scored 83 runs in 59 balls against Chahal, however, the wily leg-spinner has also dismissed him three times in the IPL, something which could bother Pant.
Despite having a favourable contest against the leggie, Pant will be wary of the Chahal threat and could become his victim once again.
