PRC vs PR, Match 5-  Toss Factor

The strip here generally favours the pacers more than the spinners. It seemed like a batter's paradise in the last season especially during the first innings. Plenty of runs were scored and the same can be expected. However, the strip tends to slow down and the pacers gets to maximise their number of wickets.

Scenario: If Paarl Royals field first

The Royals have some exceptional stars in their ranks who are expert in chasing a total. The likes of David Miller, Jos Buttler, and Phehlukwayo could be few of those names to come up and showcase their abilities.  Jason Roy and Lungi Ngidi are other bowlers who can exploit the conditions well.

Scenario: If Pretoria Capitals field first

The Bosch brothers are one of the exceptional talents that the Capitals' possesses apart from Rilee Rossouw, Phil Salt and Will Jacks. Although the conditions of Centurion hardly favours the spinners, Adil Rashid is a top-notch quality that defines wrist spin and can come good.

PRC vs PR, Match 5- Top Captain and vice-captain Picks

Scenario: If Paarl Royals field first

David Miller (PR): The South African batter is one of the greats of white-ball cricket and has the ability to tear down the opposition bowlers on his day. He has been having a great time in the past couple of years and will look to replicate his heroics for the Royals. Miller scored 41 in the last game too.

Will Jacks (PRC): The Capitals have a brilliant all-rounder in the form of Will Jacks who can fetch quick runs with the bat and also can act as handy spinner. He has bagged good amount of wickets in the past couple of years for various franchises. Also, not to forget his primary skills with the bat- a swashbuckler who can speed up run-scoring.

Scenario: If Pretoria Capitals field first

Rilee Rossouw (PRC): The left-handed batter is one of the cleanest striker of the cricket ball and can tee down the opposition  on his own will. This particular venue is known for high aggregates in T20s and Rossouw could justify the numbers with his smacking prowess. He looked good in his 29 in the last game but failed to convert the score.

Lungi Ngidi (PR): The right-arm pace bowler just gets enough movement off the deck to create chances. He picked quick wickets against India in the recent Newlands Test and has the ability to talk with the ball. Ngidi can benefit from the wicket of Centurion that generally assists pacers.

PRC vs PR, Match 5- High Risk, High Reward choice

Phil Salt (PRC): The English wicketkeeper-batter was in scintillating batting form in recent times but failed to earn bids during the IPL 2024 auction. He would look to prove his mettle in the SA20 and make things big as a lot of scouts keep on yearning for talents like these. Salt scored 39 runs in their last game but failed to convert it like few of his teammates.

Andile Phehlukwayo (PR): The all-rounder seems to be finding his best touch once again. After playing a impactful quickfire knock with the willow (14-ball 28*), Phehlukwayo shone with the ball after he claimed two wickets. However, his form is temporary but the class is permanent.
