After a doubleheader Saturday, Sydney Thunder and Adelaide Strikers will lock horns in match 37 of the ongoing BBL 13 at the Manuka Oval, Canberra. The contest is all set to start at 1:45 PM IST.
After a loss in the Sydney Derby, the Thunder's hope to make the playoffs have diminished. They played eight games so far and have just three points in the bag. In their last five encounters, they have lost four of them with one of them against the Sydney Sixers turning out to be a rain-washed encounter. Meanwhile, the Strikers have picked themselves up with three back-to-back wins and have gathered nine points from as many games. This is their last match and currently they are in the fourth position. It is important for them to win this game and solidify their chances to make it to the next stage.

THU vs STR, Match 37- Toss Factor
The Manuka Oval, Canberra is a sluggish ground that does not witness too many high scores. It aids the spinners and the medium pacers. Bowlers with good variation in pace can reap good rewards here. For the batters, they need to be ultra watchful and try their best to rotate the strike regularly.
Scenario: If Adelaide Strikers field first
The Strikers are a great chasing side with their top-order firing in the tourney. The likes of Matt Short, Chris Lynn and D'Arcy Short have been pretty good with the bat for the Strikers. They also have an underrated bowling line-up with Cameron Boyce, Jamie Overton and David Payne with good progress.
Scenario: If Sydney Thunder field first
The Thunder are reeling behind in the table and their batting has really struggled. However, David Warner is back for the side and with Alex Hales and Tom Kohler-Cadmore in the mix, they would look to bounce back. Tanveer Sangha and Chris Green could be two bowlers who could exploit the best out of the conditions for Thunder.
THU vs STR, Match 37- Top Captain and Vice-captain Picks
Scenario: If Adelaide Strikers field first
Matthew Short (STR): The Adelaide-based side's skipper has been in sensational form with the bat during this edition of BBL. He is their leading run-getter with 435 runs from eight innings. Short has smacked five half-centuries in this tournament and can also chip in with wickets whenever needed.
David Warner (THU): The Australian legend is accustomed to playing on slow tracks after his good form with the Delhi Capitals in the previous edition of IPL. The left-hander has been in good form offlate and also got a start in the last game for Thunder before succumbing to pressure.
Scenario: If Sydney Thunder field first
Chris Lynn (STR): The Australian veteran has gone bonkers with the bat this season. He has racked up 304 runs so far in the competition and played some unreal match-winnings knocks for the Adelaide-based franchise. He has been batting at no. 3 for this side and compiled his innings with sheer maturity.
Chris Green (THU): The Australian all-rounder is likely to get the best out of the surface. Even during the CPL stints, he tends to perform well on slower tracks. Green has the ability to bowl well during the powerplay and middle over phases. He can also be more than handy lower down the order with the willow in hand.
THU vs STR, Match 37- High risk, High reward choices
Daniel Sams (THU): The Australian three-dimensional cricketer is yet to fire with the bat in hand for the Thunder. However, he has been brilliant with his change-ups across phases and is the leading wicket-taker for the 'Thunder Nation'. Although shilly shally with the form, Sams can earn valuable points.
Jake Weatherald (STR): The recognised batter piled up a stupendous 80* off 32 balls that included nine fours and five sixes. The 29-year-old found his groove despite scoring just 11 runs from his previous three BBL outings.
