The Newlands, Cape Town is more like a neutral venue and the one with utmost calibre can come on top. The batters enjoy their stroke-making here while the pacers get good bounce and pace along with hints of movement with the new ball. There's something for the spinners as well.

Scenario: If MI Cape Town field first

The Cape Town-based won their last match on this venue whole chasing against the Paarl Royals. They have a very good batting order that is capable of overhauling any total on their day. Ryan Rickelton and Rassie van der Dussen are in prime form with the bat but they will need to polish in some areas in both batting and bowling department.

Scenario: If MI Cape Town fields first

Ryan Rickelton (MICT) : The South African top-order batter has the ability to crush the bowlers and play elongated innings. He did so on a chasing note against the Paarl Royals and ensured that his side go over the line. He has scored 342 runs from five innings and has been in scintillating form that saw three 85-plus scores.

Reece Topley (DSG): The English pacer has been in red hot form with the ball and has bagged eight wickets from five matches so far. The left-arm pacer scalped two three-fers in recent times with overall seven wickets from his last three games. Topley is very good with the new ball and also possesses the ability to bowl threatening yorker at the slog overs.

Scenario: If Durban Super Giants field first

Heinrich Klaasen (DSG): The South African wicketkeeper-batter is a beast against both pacers and spinners. Klaasen played some stupendous knocks for the side and helped them go over the line. The last time when both teams rubbed shoulders, Klaasen’s swashbuckling fifty helped the Super Giants get past the dls par score in a rain-curtailed affair.

Rassie van der Dussen: The right-handed batter has been a different batter after being promoted at the top of the order. He has been ferocious in his approach and often took the new ball bowlers for a tour across the park. Rassie has blazed 210 runs from five matches so far and is one of the best bets going around.

MICT vs DSG, Match 16- High Risk, High Reward

Marcus Stoinis (DSG): The Australian all-rounder did not have a great time in the middle during the Big Bash League. However, the conditions of Newlands may favour his style of bowling and batting. Stoinis can be a match-winner on his day with both bat and ball and henceforth he could be a good option for fantasy team.

Thomas Kaber (MICT): The last time MICT played in this venue, Kaber scalped a three-fer that includes a big wicket of David Miller. He's a witty operator still to gain limelight and it won't be easy for the opposition batters to pick his variations. Kaber has four wickets from his last two games in SA20 2024.
