DSG vs SEC, Qualifier 1- Toss Factor

The Newlands, Cape Town supports the pace bowlers more than the spinners. But since a lot of matches have been played in the venue, the strips have started to wear. Also, the batters do enjoy it provided they are good against steep bounce.

Scenario: If Durban's Super Giants field first

The Super Giants are a well-poised side and have a plethora of match-winners in their ranks. Ashton Agar joined the side instead of Marcus Stoinis and this will bolster their spin department along with Keshav Maharaj. Heinrich Klaasen, Matthew Breetzke, JJ Smuts, Tony de Zorzi, and Wiaan Mulder form the core of their batting department.

Scenario: If Sunrisers Eastern Cape field first

The defending champs seem to be peaking at the right time and they have a side where all the players gel as a team. The likes of Daniel Worrall and Otneil Baartmann have been terrific with the ball while Marco Jansen has been outstanding with his all-round skills. Also, Temba Bavuma is back in the side and will bolster the batting unit along with Aiden Markram, Adam Rossington, Jordan Hermann, Tristan Stubbs, etc.

DSG vs SEC, Qualifier 1 - Top Captain and Vice Captain

Scenario: If Durban's Super Giants field first

Marco Jansen (SEC): The Proteas all-rounder notched 31-ball 71* in the last match he played. Jansen has also been very consistent with the cork and have the knack of picking wickets with the new ball. Jansen offers a brilliant three-dimensional balance to the Eastern Capes.

Heinrich Klaasen (DSG): The wicketkeeper-batter has been in scintillating form with the bat and tends to go berserk on every other match. Having notched up 350 runs from ten matches, the right-handed batter is striking the kookaburra at the rate of 207.10.

Scenario: If Sunrisers Eastern Cape field first

Tristan Stubbs (SEC): The gloveman has been brilliant with his keeping skills behind the stumps but what makes him stand apart is his batting progress. He has grown into a more mature batter and has the ability to adapt to tricky situations. Stubbs has scored 231 runs from seven innings that includes two half-centuries- one of which came against the Super Giants.

Keshav Maharaj (DSG): The bowling all-rounder has scalped eleven wickets from nine innings and can be a utility factor in the forthcoming contest. He can be useful during the powerplay and middle overs phase. Also, not to forget, Maharaj can be handy with the bat.

DSG vs SEC, Qualifier 1 - High Risk, High Rewards

Junior Dala (DSG): The right-arm pacer can be handy for his side with the cork in the Newlands conditions. He bagged a fifer against Pretoria Capitals and has also claimed seven wickets from his last couple of games.

Aiden Markram (SEC): South Africa’s white-ball captain is one of the best middle-order batters going around in the world currently. He notched up a brilliant ton in the last season during the playoffs and helped his side to the finals. It won’t be surprising if Markram contributes in a similar way this time.
