After winning the one-day international series by a margin of 2-1 (3), Sri Lanka Women (SL-W) now collide with New Zealand Women (NZ-W) in a three-match T20 international series commencing from Saturday, July 08, 2023, at P Sara Oval in Colombo at 10.00 AM IST. The second and the third matches will be played at the very same venue on the 10th and 12th respectively. However, before the game goes live, here is a look at some of the important player stats, the prime player picks, and the best-suggested XIs for the fantasy contests of this encounter.
Speaking about the ODI series, Sri Lanka skipper Chamari Athapaththu was the standout performer as she smashed 248 runs at an average of 248.00 in three innings which included two match-winning centuries. The left-handed batter will be looking to continue his solid form in the shortest international format now.
The home side last played a T20I series against Bangladesh in May this year. After losing the opening clash, Sri Lanka bounced back to win the final two matches to clinch the series by a 2-1 margin on home soil.
The White Ferns' last appearance in the format was in the T20 World Cup held earlier this year in South Africa. After losing their opening two league games against Australia and the hosts South Africa, New Zealand did manage to win their last two matches but failed to make it to the semi-final stage.
