The 2023 World Cup warm-up fixtures kicks off on September 29 with three action-packed clashes. The second game of the practice events will see South Africa rub shoulders with Afghanistan at the Greenfield Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, slated to begin at 2:00 PM IST.

South Africa are arriving on the back of a pleasant 3-2 ODI series win against Australia. On the other hand, Afghanistan come into the World Cup as a slightly underrated unit. They are one of the most rising teams in cricket and attained the Test status recently as well. The Hashmatullah Shahidi-led unit failed to make the Super Four stages of Asia Cup 2023 by a meagre margin. They were on the verge of chasing the target against Sri Lanka within stipulated overs but faltered as they did not have proper knowledge of the asking equation.
