The biggest festival in four years is back and this time in the heart of Asian cricket i.e. India. The warm-up events of 2023 World Cup kickstarts on September 29 with three intense encounters. The first game will see Bangladesh (BAN) square off against Sri Lanka (SL) at the Barsapara International Stadium, Guwahati. The action gets away from 2:00 PM IST. 

Both teams were a part of the recently concluded Asia Cup and faced off twice against one another. On both the occasions, it was Sri Lanka who eclipsed their counterparts in the group stage and in the Super Fours. The Bangladesh Tigers managed to make way into the Super Fours but failed to make the cut for the Finals. They lost to Sri Lanka and Pakistan but managed to finish the tournament with some pride after defeating India in their final clash.

Sri Lanka, on the other hand, became the runners-up of the Asian Championship and succumbed to a breathtaking Indian attack in the main event. They were without the service of four of their first choice cricketers but luckily a couple of them made their way into the World Cup Squad. The likes of Lahiru Kumara and Dushmantha Chameera is back with the side while Wanindu Hasaranga is yet to be deemed fit and can come into the squad later as an injury replacement only.
