Mumbai were in Group E of the tournament. They too gave their best in the league stage and won five of their six matches. The Shreyas Iyer-led side finished second in the group stage to qualify for the quarter final of the tournament. 

In the quarter-final Mumbai faced the Vidarbha in a edge of the seat contest. Vidarbha batted first in the game and posted 221/6 in their 20 overs. The chase was set by the two openers, Prithvi Shaw and Ajinkya Rahane for Mumbai. While Shaw scored 49 off 26 deliveries, Rahane played a brilliant hand of 84 runs from 45 deliveries. The tone set by the openers was carried on by the batters in the middle order and Mumbai managed to chase down the mammoth target with six wickets in hand four balls remaining in the game.

Weather - The weather during the match is expected to be cloudy with thudershower in parts of the area. As reported by AccuWeather, the highest temperature will be around 23°C and there is a 41% chance of rain.

During the IPL we have seen that the batters enjoy the surface here and high-scoring clashes are generally on the cards here.
