The 13th season of the Big Bash League (BBL) is on full swing and match 30 will see Sydney Thunder (THU) cross swords against Perth Scorchers (SCO) in the Sydney Showground Stadium, slated  to begin at 13:45 IST.  With nine points in their kitty, the Perth-based unit are situated at the third position in the league table. They have won four games and lost one with the other one being rain-washed. On the other hand, the Thunder have failed to gain momentum in the tourney thus far. The Chris Green-led community have gathered just three points from six matches with just a solitary win and four losses.  They have also been a part of a contest where the points where shared due to  poor weather conditions.

THU vs SCO, Match 30- Toss Factor

The Sydney Showground Stadium, also known by Spotless Stadium is well suited for the fast bowlers in the initial half of the game. This is the same venue that recorded the lowest-ever total in BBL history when the home side were folded for 15 in the last season. However, it does not mean that the batters won't get anything in their favour. If the batters can spent some time in the middle they're likely to get runs on board.

Scenario: If Sydney Thunder fields first

The Men in lime green have underwent a poor start in the season barring their only victory against the Melbourne Stars where Daniel Sams played a good cameo. The all-rounder has been delivering with the ball in hand as well and he should be one of the best bets in this scenario. Alex Hales and Chris Green could be some other options to rely on for some essential points.

Scenario: If Perth Scorchers fields first

Laurie Evans blew hot with the bat against the Adelaide Strikers a few days back with a scintillating 28-ball 85 runs knock in their home ground. He is a murderer of the cricket ball and can be one of the best options alongside Lance Morris who claimed a fifer in the same game and can rush with sheer pace.

THU vs SCO, Match 30- Top Captain and Vice-captain choices

Scenario: If Sydney Thunder fields first

Daniel Sams (THU): The Aussie all-rounder has bagged eleven wickets from five innings so far in the mega-event and can be a new-ball threat for the Scorchers. He has already scalped a fifer and a four-for in the tournament and has the ability to bowl across various phases. Sams is also more than a handy batter lower down the order with match-finishing ability.

Aaron Hardie (SCO): Another all-rounder who could fetch tremendous points with his three-dimensional skills is Hardie. The promising all-rounder has scored thirty-plus scores with the bat in his last four games and could be key in this particular venue that favours the seam bowlers.

Scenario: If Perth Scorchers field first

Cameron Bancroft (THU): The elegant batter will be up against his former BBL franchise and shall look to rack a memorable knock. He is a stable top-order batter with gorgeous strokes and is the leading run-getter for the Thunder in the ongoing event.

Jason Behrendorff (SCO): The left-arm pacer has a threat to any opposition when the conditions offer bit of swing and bounce. The Sydney Showground Stadium should be a hunting ground for the tall, lanky pacer who has scalped nine wickets in the tourney so far.

THU vs SCO, Match 30- Big Risk, Big Return Choices

Alex Hales (THU): The English top-order batter has a reputation to hit monstrous sixes but his lack of consistency has been one of the talking points in the town. However, Hales would look to play a matured innings and showcase why he's one of the best white ball cricketers in the modern generation.

Lance Morris (SCO): The 'wild thing' is one of its kind when it come to pace bowling. He is an X-factor cricketer for the tourists and when other bowlers fail, he tends to bore the fruits. Having bagged already nine wickets including a five-wicket haul against Adelaide Strikers, his sheer pace and bounce could trouble the Thunder batters in the forthcoming contest.
