The much-anticipated third edition of the WPL is set to commence on February 14. The Gujarat Giants will start their campaign against defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) in Vadodara. While the franchise remains one of the most celebrated teams in the tournament, Gujarat Giants have struggled in both previous seasons, finishing at the bottom of the table each time.  

Determined to turn things around, the Giants have made a bold move by appointing Australian all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner as their new captain for this season. It is also important to mention that, Giants also has some of the most talented and charismatic players in the league. Phoebe Litchfield has been making headlines ever since her international debut. She first appeared in T20Is against India in late 2022 and made an immediate impact in ODIs against Pakistan in early 2023. At just 21 years old, one of Litchfield’s biggest strengths is her confidence against spin bowling. 

She not only tackles spinners effectively but also looks to dominate them with her signature reverse sweeps and aggressive shot-making. Her attacking mindset will be a major boost for the Giants’ batting lineup in the upcoming season. Alongside her cricketing abilities, she has also been in the spotlight because of her beauty. 

Harleen Deol

One of the crucial players to watch out for Gujarat Giants in the upcoming WPL is Harleen Deol. The Indian batter will bring much-needed flexibility to the Giants' lineup, offering the ability to float in the batting-order and accelerate the scoring rate as and when required. She is also known for her elegant yet aggressive stroke play along with her beauty.

The right-handed batter has represented India in 24 T20Is, scoring 251 runs at an average of 16.73 and a strike rate of 84.79. While her international numbers are modest, she has shown promise in the WPL, where she has played 11 matches, and made 250 runs at an average of 25.00 and a strike rate of 111.11.

Danielle Gibson is a talented bowling all-rounder who plays for England. She will be seen in the upcoming WPL and is set to play for the Gujarat Giants. Having made her T20I debut for England in 2023, she has played 22 matches and have taken 10 wickets at an economy rate of 7.36. She has also contributed with the bat and has made 147 runs in 22 matches at average of 14.70 and strike-rate of 124.57.
