Chetan Sakariya is happy to have found a new home in the Indian Premier League (IPL) with two-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), but only happier to earn a chance to meet Shahrukh Khan, the franchise's co-owner and legendary film actor.

The Rajasthan left-arm pacer revealed he is fond of Shahrukh, who is the most loved actor in the country, with a humongous fan following overseas as well.

Sakariya Reveals Shahrukh Khan Love

The incident is from IPL 2020 played in UAE where Sakariya had been roped in by the popular franchise for net bowler's duties and RCB then happened to play KKR in Sharjah.

Speaking to Sportskeeda about his forthcoming KKR stint, Sakariya said one of his most delightful and exciting factors of the new association is the chance to meet and interact with Shahrukh Khan, who is known to refrain from cricketing matters but is always up to encourage the KKR players and squad with cheers from the stands and dressing room pep talk.

"Really looking forward to meet Shah Rukh sir," he said. "I have met mega stars like MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli in my life and it's just a great opportunity to see them carry themselves in public and observe their demeanor. So I will be starstruck when I meet Shah Rukh sir and I don't think I will have words for it."

The cricketer recalled the time he was left in awe of the great man as he cheered wholeheartedly for KKR from the stands, which was an experience worth savouring for Sakariya, who was a net bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the time.

"I have seen him from close quarters in the past when I was a net bowler for RCB in IPL in Sharjah. I was just in awe of the way he cheered for everyone in the nets and it's a big occasion to witness a mega star from so close," Sakariya added.

Sakariya, who was purchased by the Kolkata side for a base sum bid of INR 50 lakhs after being released by his previous franchise, Delhi Capitals (DC), said the opportunity to interact with the global star icon is one of the biggest appeals of his KKR association.
