Faf du Plessis, former South African cricket captain, quickly reacted to the tragic death of Charlie Kirk with a short, powerful tweet. He questioned the USA’s gun culture and hinted at stricter laws against arm licensing.

Charlie Kirk was a conservative political activist in the U.S. He co-founded "Turning Point USA" and was speaking at an outdoor event at Utah Valley University in Orem when he was shot.

Authorities say a single bullet struck him on the neck while he was answering audience questions under a tent during his “American Comeback Tour”. The audience was large, as nearly 3,000 people were present at the event.

Moreover, the gunshot reportedly came from a rooftop a significant distance away. After the shot, the crowd panicked as many ducked and many fled.

As the news of Charlie Kirk’s passing spread, panic engulfed the globe. From America to Europe to Africa, the world reacted to Krik’s merciless killing with strong words.

Ex-South African cricketer Faf du Plessis, meanwhile, posted a tweet condoling Charlie Kirk’s assassination. He expressed growing concern about gun culture in America and wondered how easy it is in the USA to get a firearm and how that can lead to violence, even when people gather for peaceful events.

"RIP Charlie Kirk. I’ll never understand America and why everyone can just have a gun. 🙏" Faf tweeted.

That being said, as of now, no suspect has been officially charged. Some people were taken in for questioning but later released. Authorities are still investigating.

Donald Trump Vows Justice For Charlie Kirk

Conservative activist and close Donald Trump ally Charlie Kirk was shot dead during a Utah college event, sparking shock across the U.S.

President Trump confirmed Kirk’s death, calling him a “great and even legendary” figure. In a fiery address, Trump vowed action against those behind the “atrocity” and warned that groups fuelling political violence would be held accountable.

FBI Director Kash Patel revealed that a suspect initially detained has been released, leaving the investigation ongoing as the nation reels from Kirk’s assassination.
