Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga recently attended the wedding ceremony of his sister. As one can expect, the momentous occasion brought out the emotional side of the cricketer.
In a video circulating around social media, the RCB star was seen hugging his sister and breaking down into tears at the ceremony.
Wanindu Hasaranga breaks down at sister’s wedding
Wanindu Hasaranga, who turned up for B-Love Kandy at the recently-concluded LPL 2023 season, attended his sister’s wedding ceremony. A clip of the occasion is making rounds across social media, where he can be seen getting overwhelmed by the momentous occasion and breaking down into tears.
Hasaranga was due to take part for Sri Lanka’s upcoming Asia Cup title-defence at the 2023 edition. However, the cricketer will miss his team’s Group B fixtures owing to an injury.
Last week, the 26-year-old slumped to a thigh injury and was forced to miss the LPL 2023 final for B-Love Kandy. As per the team management, the cricketer will not be ready for Sri Lanka’s Group B fixtures against Bangladesh and Afghanistan on August 31 and September 5 respectively.
Wanindu Hasaranga’s injury dealt a massive blow to Sri Lanka’s chances at the Asia Cup 2023, as the cricketer also played an influential role in his team’s continental triumph last year in UAE.
It remains to be seen the extent of his injury, as Sri Lankan ramps up procedures for his speedy recovery in time for the closing stages of Asia Cup 2023, and more importantly, for the forthcoming 2023 Cricket World Cup in India.
