Team India trounced Pakistan by seven wickets in their highly-awaited World Cup 2023 duel at the Narendra Modi Stadium. For once, seasoned campaigner Virat Kohli played little-to-no role in India’s grand stage dominance over their arch-rivals, considering his fellow senior mate Rohit Sharma had dished out enough punches to conclude the proceedings in hosts’ favor.

Kohli, however, did enthralled a capacity Ahmedabad crowd with his electric fielding and a couple of elegant drives during his short batting stay at the crease.

At a time when the entire team was basking in the glory of their emphatic World Cup 2023 triumph over Pakistan, the senior Indian batter was spotted sharing a tender moment with wife Anushka Sharma in the crowd.

The majestic Narendra Modi Stadium hosted over 100,000 spectators for India’s blockbuster showdown with Pakistan, where most of the attendees were, unsurprisingly, Indian supporters. The grand venue was also graced by a number of prominent personalities, including Bollywood actress and Virat Kohli’s wife Anushka Sharma.

After the match, Kohli was spotted near the boundary alongside teammates Jasprit Bumrah and Shubman Gill. The cricketer, who was having a candid conversation with ‘Player of the Match’ Bumrah, left his chat to signal tenderly gestures for his wife in the stands. Their affectionate moment at the stadium was captured via a video and the footage instantly went viral across social media.

Meanwhile, Team India’s win over Pakistan marked their third in succession this World Cup 2023 as they jump to the top of the points table, displacing New Zealand in the process. The momentous occasion also extended India’s unbeaten World Cup winning streak against their arch-rivals to 8-0.

Virat Kohli, captain Rohit Sharma and the rest of their Indian teammates will now face Bangladesh for their subsequent World Cup 2023 challenge on October 19. The much-awaited match will be played out at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune.
