As Asia Cup 2023 is set to kick off tomorrow in Pakistan, the unity that sports, particularly cricket, brings among people from different backgrounds is already evident.

Afridi's candid moment with Bollywood stars has ignited Asia Cup excitement

In a recent incident that has caught social media by storm, former Pakistan all-rounder, Shahid Afridi was spotted sharing a light-hearted moment with Bollywood actors Sohail Khan and Aftab Shivdasani at the airport.

The video, which showcases the trio laughing and indulging in a jovial conversation, was posted on Afridi's Instagram handle.

“Have been on the road between Canada for @GT20canada and USA for @USMastersT10 and multiple charity events for @safridifoundation past 40 days and I miss Pakistan. One thing for sure, nothing unites people more than sports sp cricket, love this game!” captioned Afridi.

Before this rendezvous, Afridi was seen in action during the US Masters T10 League representing New York Warriors. The team had a commendable run and managed to reach the final in the league's debut season.

Though they lost to the Texas Chargers in a thrilling Super Over finish, Afridi's performance, particularly in the last over, and Sohail Khan's five-wicket haul stood out.

Coming to the final, New York Warriors posted a total of 92/6 in their stipulated 10 overs. Jonathan Carter's knock of 39* was instrumental in helping the Warriors reach a competitive score.

Texas Chargers were on track in their chase courtesy of Mohammad Hafeez's 46. However, Khan's bowling brilliance and Afridi's last-over drama brought both teams to a tie at 92.

The resulting Super Over saw the Chargers setting a target of 15, with Ben Dunk and Mukhtar Ahmed showing off some aggressive batting. Despite a spirited attempt from Afridi and Carter, the Warriors fell short by just two runs.
