Rohit Sharma and Team India arrived in Dubai on Saturday, February 15, to begin their preparations for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which kicks off on February 19. The first batch of players and support staff, including Virat Kohli and head coach Gautam Gambhir, left from Mumbai earlier in the day.
However, a video of Rohit Sharma at the Dubai airport has caught the attention of fans, making them wonder if the Indian captain has once again forgotten something. In the clip, Rohit is seen standing near the team bus, talking to a support staff member. Given his history of forgetting things—like passports and bags while traveling—fans started speculating that he might have misplaced something again.
But according to a report by the TOI as quoted by SportsTak, there could be another reason for Rohit's wait. The report suggests that KL Rahul was the last player to leave the airport, around 20 minutes after the rest of the team. He had to travel separately to the team hotel, which might explain why Rohit was seen waiting and speaking with a staff member—possibly discussing Rahul’s transport arrangements.
Team India Stars Arrive In Dubai
Meanwhile, Team India has reached Dubai in multiple groups. Some of the key players who have arrived include Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Axar Patel, and Arshdeep Singh.
India, the former champions, will kick off their campaign against Bangladesh on February 20 in Dubai. A much-anticipated clash against Pakistan will follow on February 23, and their final group-stage match will be against New Zealand on March 2. Interestingly, India are among the four teams that will not be playing any warm-up matches before the tournament begins.
