Team India wants to waste no time after landing in Dubai and has decided to start the preparations for the Champions Trophy 2025 on Sunday (February 16). Despite a short flight from Mumbai, Rohit Sharma and his men have opted to skip a rest day and leave no stone unturned to prepare themselves for the high-intensity campaign.
The first batch of players that included Virat Kohli, Hardik Pandya, Rishabh Pant, and KL Rahul, arrived in Dubai on Saturday afternoon. They were accompanied by head coach Gautam Gambhir, bowling coach Morne Morkel, and fielding coach T Dilip. Upon arrival, the 'Men in Blue' received a warm welcome at the Dubai airport.
'NO REST DAY' For Team India
According to reports from RevSportz, India will hold their first practice session at the ICC Academy in Dubai at 2:30 PM IST on Sunday (February 16). The report further stated that the Indian team will likely skip and not attend the press conference.This decision clearly indicates that the 'Men in Blue' want to start the tournament on a high note. It is important to note that India will play its first match against Bangladesh on February 20.
With Rohit Sharma and Co. getting straight to business, India’s intent is crystal clear that is no breaks, no distractions, just pure focus on the ultimate prize.
It is worth mentioning that the Champions Trophy 2025 kicks off on February 19, with hosts Pakistan facing New Zealand in Karachi. However, the marquee clash between India and Pakistan that is clearly the highlight of the tournament will take place on February 23, 2025 at Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
