Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who has been battling his way back to peak form post a nearly catastrophic accident, marked his 26th birthday on Wednesday October 4.

The prodigious stumper has been out of the action since his accident while journeying from Delhi to Roorkee in December last year. This accident had the young cricketer sidelined for the entirety of 2023.

Currently, at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru, Pant has been vigorously training, focusing on regaining match fitness. Fans got a glimpse of his commitment and progress in an exhibition match played in August in Bengaluru. Several videos circulating on social media platforms document his dedication, showing his rigorous regimens and the spirit to represent India again.

As Pant turns 26, his Indian Premier League (IPL) teammates from Delhi Capitals joined him for birthday celebrations at the NCA in what was a heartwarming display of camaraderie and support.

A video that quickly gained traction on social media depicted teammates Axar Patel and Prithvi Shaw smashing cake onto a playful Pant's face, despite his half-hearted protests.

Adding a spiritual element to his birthday week, Pant undertook a pilgrimage to Uttarakhand's revered Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines on Tuesday. 

Before turning 26, he sought blessings and participated in religious rituals at these sacred sites. Khanpur's Member of the Legislative Assembly, Umesh Kumar, accompanied Pant on this spiritual journey. Amidst a throng of devotees and admirers, the Delhi Capitals' captain offered his respects.

Meanwhile, as Pant leads his path to recovery and potentially returns to international cricket, his dedication has been a source of inspiration for many. The cricket community and his ardent fans keenly await his return, hoping to see him don the Indian jersey once again soon.
