Virat Kohli may have stepped away from Test cricket, but he’s still winning hearts off the field, this time, not with a bat in hand, but with his adorable and heartwarming gestures.

The former India cricket captain recently made a rare public appearance in London for a charity dinner hosted by his longtime friend and ex-teammate Yuvraj Singh. The event, held in support of Yuvraj’s YouWeCan Foundation, brought together some of the biggest names in cricket, including Sachin Tendulkar, Chris Gayle, Kevin Pietersen, Brian Lara, and Ravi Shastri, to name a few. It was a star-studded evening, with current and former Indian players, including the newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir, also in attendance.

But amidst all the cricket legends, it was Virat Kohli’s simple, sweet gestures that stole the show, and the internet.

A video from the event is now going viral on social media where Virat is seen seated next to Kevin Pietersen. When a friend waved at him from a distance, Kohli responded with the cutest, most wholesome wave and smile, something fans are calling “pure Pookie behavior.” 

For the uninitiated, “Pookie” is a Gen Z term of endearment, used to describe someone irresistibly cute or lovable. And judging by fan reactions, Kohli fits the bill.

But it didn’t stop there. When asked about his wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, and their kids, daughter Vamika and their baby boy, Akkay, Kohli didn’t speak, but made a gentle hand gesture indicating that they were home, resting and sleeping. It was a quiet, respectful moment that had fans swooning.

The sighting at Yuvraj’s charity dinner came just days after Kohli and Anushka were spotted enjoying the Wimbledon 2025 Round of 16 match, where they watched tennis legend Novak Djokovic defeat Australia’s Alex de Minaur. Dressed in elegant formals, the couple turned heads at Centre Court, blending into the classy vibe while still grabbing attention.

This appearance followed Kohli’s recent IPL 2025 win with Royal Challengers Bengaluru, his long-awaited first IPL title as a player, making it an especially emotional and triumphant season for him.
