Pune Devils’ co-owners Krishan Kumar Chaudhary and Parag Sanghvi, batting coach Ashar Zaidi, assistant coach Sunny Dhillon, team manager Shadab Ahamed and domestic players Rizwan Javed and Saliya Saman are the other seven charged by ICC’s anti-corruption unit.

Nasir Hossain himself is facing charges for not reporting a corrupt approach, as well as for not reporting a gift worth more than USD 750. Meanwhile, co-owner Sanghvi has been charged for placing a bet on the match while Zaidi, Javed among others were charged for “being party to an attempt to fix, or influence matches.”

As per a report from ESPNCricinfo, several corruptors were trying to infiltrate the Pune Devils camp to influence their matches, only for their efforts to be disrupted by the anti-corruption unit.

Hossain, the most prominent name among the eight accused, played the last of his international matches for Bangladesh back in 2018. Having made his debut across all formats in 2011, the cricketer played 19 Tests, 65 ODIs and 31 T20I matches for his country until his final appearance in January 2018 in Mirpur.

Hossain has since become a prominent T20 freelancer for numerous franchise-based leagues across the world.
