In a significant development, according to reports a biopic is being made on former cricketer Vinod Kambli's life and struggles. As the veteran player celebrated his 53rd birthday on January 18,  sources revealed that a film based on his life is currently in development. This project, set to explore the highs and lows of Kambli's cricketing career. The movie is being produced by Ravi Bhagchandka, who also produced the biographical film Sachin: A Billion Dreams.

Biopic To Be Made On Vinod Kambli’s Journey 

According to the reports by BollywoodHungama, Kambli's biopic is being helmed by renowned Marathi and Hindi filmmaker Abhijeet Deshpande. The main theme of the film will focus on Kambli's rise in Indian cricket and also his downfall, his journey as a cricketer and his contribution to Indian Cricket. It is important to mention that his promising career was marred by off-field controversies and personal challenges, ultimately leading to his early exit from cricket. 

Interestingly, Kambli is no stranger to the entertainment industry, having made his Bollywood debut in 2002 he appeared in various TV shows during the mid-2010s. 

A source close to the project shares, “The Vinod Kambli biopic has been in the works for quite a few years now, the rights for the same were attained almost five years ago. With the recent developments in the cricketer’s life, it would be interesting to witness how the story paces out portraying the different stages of his journey, however, it is not yet clear whether it would be a film or a series. 

Ravi has delivered another very successful sports biographical drama in the past and the production house has been working on multiple projects across genres broadening the horizon.”

The 53-year-old cricketer, who once dominated headlines for his exceptional talent, has recently made news due to health issues and financial struggles. Over the years, Kambli has faced several health problems related to his body as well as and mental health.
