Indian cricketer Rohit Sharma is a mass craze amongst fans, especially in Mumbai, where he is also often lovingly called 'Mumbai cha Raja' (Mumbai's King). While Rohit's fan base is overwhelming, a recent gesture from Rohit's long-time friend and former Indian assistant coach Abhishek Nayar won hearts.
In a video clip, Abhishek Nayar was seen rushing outside ahead of Rohit Sharma to turn into his bodyguard as he guided the MI star through the swarming crowd, who were jumping over to get a glimpse and a selfie with their favourite star.
Nayar steps out to protect Rohit Sharma!
In a viral social media video that is now doing the rounds on the internet, Abhishek Nayar was spotted coming out of a building ahead of Rohit Sharma to warn the horde of fans waiting for the star to step outside.
"Dhakka mat dena please lagega use. Hum sab fan hai lekin use lagna nahi chahiye, Please dur rehna and ladhai nahi karna. Koi dhakka nahi dega," Abhishek was found shouting to the mass of fans present outside the precinct.
Notably, Abhishek Nayar had his boots rested as India's coach back in July 2025, but that didn't thin the wall of relationship between the former mentor and the star batter.
The Nayar-Rohit bond since India days!
Nayar is currently the fitness coach of Rohit Sharma, under whom the MI star lost 10kgs and looks fitter than ever, as he appeared on the CEAT Awards 2025 in Mumbai. The bond between the two has been well-known, and the beautiful gesture from Nayar for 'Mumbai cha Raja' further underscores this sentiment.
Rohit Sharma is all set to hit some balls out of the park as India gears up for the Australia tour with the ODI series beginning from October 19 at Perth. The following two concluding ODI matches will be played at Adelaide and Sydney as the Indian T20I team will face Australia again from October 29.
