Wasim Akram recently unveiled his rapping skills at the behest of a studio host when the former Pakistan captain was giving his expert analysis for the 2023 World Cup.

Wasim Akram gives his shot at “rap”

Legendary Pakistan paceman Wasim Akram has been making constant appearances at A Sports alongside former teammates Shoaib Malik and Moin Khan to give his expert analysis for the 2023 World Cup.

Known for his astute opinions on the game, the cricketer-turned-commentator also displayed his unseen ‘rap’ skills when the studio host candidly asked him to perform a number. Much to everyone’s amusement, Akram did pull out a rap number for a few seconds, which ended up igniting a laugh riot among his peers Malik and Khan as well as from everyone witnessing the performance firsthand in the studio.

Legendary Wasim Akram announced his retirement from international cricket following the conclusion of the 2003 World Cup in South Africa and Zimbabwe. During his playing days, the cricketer turned up for Pakistan in 104 Tests and 356 ODI matches.

Akram was one of the stalwarts of Pakistan’s 1992 World Cup triumph in Australia, considering his twin strikes against England changed the complexion of the title clash in a space of two deliveries.

The former Pakistan speedster continues to remain the second highest wicket-taker in ODIs behind Muthiah Muralitharan, and the highest among all fast bowlers with 502 scalps to his name. The left-arm paceman also bagged 414 additional wickets in Tests to eventually conclude his career by tallying 916 international wickets, sixth highest collection of wickets among all bowlers, active or former across all formats combined.
