The Delhi Capitals started off the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season with three wins out of three. The team had almost everything in sink and they looked like a well oiled team in the first few matches of the tournament. However, one moment against RCB led to their decline in the second half.

In DC's third match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), the Capitals won a tricky game from the jaws of defeat. The hero of the game was the in-form, KL Rahul, who smacked a match-winning 93* off 53 and beat his former IPL side with ease in the end.

Post game, he did the infamous "this is my ground" Kantara celebration and seemingly mocked his previous team. However since then, it has gone downhill for the team.

The Kantara curse strikes DC

After winning three out of three and thrashing RCB, DC's IPL campaign went downhill as they won only 2 of their next 6 games. They lost against MI in their next match, followed by a Super Over win over RR.

They lost against GT, but thrashed LSG in the next contest and it was followed by back-to-back losses Vs RCB and KKR. The celebration gained traction when KL did it against RCB and as per the belief, the person or the people associated with it experience losses, something which happened with both KL Rahul and DC as they suffered a string of defeats.

DC struggling in ongoing game Vs SRH

Put into bat by SRH captain, Pat Cummins, DC had a horrendous start as Karun Nair was dismissed on the first ball of the match by Cummins. He followed it up with wickets of Abishek Porel and Faf du Plessis as the Capitals were pushed on back-foot.

The team looked down and out before Tristan Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma resurrected the innings and at the time of writing, DC are 115/6 with 2 overs left in the innings.
