In the IPL 2025, the duo reunited after Pietersen joined the Delhi Capitals as a mentor. In a recent chat, Rahul left everyone in splits as he shared a hilarious anecdote about his lighthearted banter with Pietersen’s wife.

KL Rahul’s batting is so calm and patient that it could test even a monk’s nerves, and sometimes, the bowlers’ too. There are very few instances where Rahul was seen angry on the field. Even off the field, Rahul carries his calm aura, but that serene script takes a hilarious twist whenever Kevin Pietersen enters the frame. The English legend somehow unlocked a lighter, cheekier side of Rahul, and during IPL 2025, fans were treated to some funny moments.
When KL Rahul joined the Delhi Capitals this season, fans got a double treat as Kevin Pietersen came on board as mentor, and their bromance was back in business. As the duo share a good bond, KL Rahul once complained to Pietersen’s wife. Speaking on the 2 Sloggers YouTube channel, Rahul revealed the hilarious story.
“Our banter is different. He is a great sport. He gives it to you also. There was this video, and there were two-three times where I said something and DC posted it on the Insta page. So, my wife was telling me, 'Why are you being so mean? He is such a sweet guy,” Rahul said.
“I said, 'Half the things that he does to me and tells me, that doesn't come out.' This is three times that I have given out of the 100 times he is after my life. I complained to his wife when we were in UK. They invited me for dinner and I told, 'Tell your husband to go easy on me. He is very rude to me,” he added.
Rahul struggles to find rhythm in ODIs against Australia
After an outstanding outing in the five-match Test series in England, KL returned to the Indian squad in the recently ended ODI series against Australia. As the cricket world was expecting the same destruction from the wicketkeeper, Rahul faced some blows in the series. In two innings, he scored only 49 runs.
As the wicketkeeper-batter is not in the T20I squad, he is set to play the Test series against South Africa. Ahead of that, KL Rahul will be seen in action in the India A’s second unofficial Test match against South Africa A. Fans are waiting for some thrilling red-ball magic from the batter.
