Sun TV heiress and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) owner Kavya Maran’s appearance with composer Anirudh Ravichander has taken the internet by storm. Unexpectedly captured in a UK vlogger’s video, the duo was seen strolling around the New York streets.

Unaware of being filmed, the SRH owner and Anirudh passed by casually on a busy, bustling NY street. As soon as the video went viral, one question has erupted on the internet: “Who is the guy with Kavya Maran?”

Who is Jawan Composer Anirudh Ravichander? 

An Indian composer and playback singer, Anirudh Ravichander, made his debut with the crowd favourite song, "Why This Kolaveri Di" in 2013. The song went viral globally, thrashing the charts with 450 million views on YouTube. 

Notably, he has won two Filmfare Awards South, ten SIIMA Awards, six Edison Awards, and five Vijay Awards. The 35-year-old’s work has featured in films of several south-Indian superstars like Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, Thalapathy Vijay, Ajith, Suriya, Pawan Kalyan, Mahesh Babu, and Jr NTR.  

Further, Ravichander made his Bollywood debut with Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan.'

Apart from his accolades, Anirudh’s dating life has also been a popular topic all over the media for over a couple of years. He has been linked in various romantic associations with several names. However, for the last two years, the Tamil-based artist has frequently been linked to Kayva Maran, the daughter of Sun TV’s owner Kalanithi Maran. 

"Stop spreading rumours": Anirudh debunks wedding rumors with Kavya Maran 

Previously, in June, Anirudh had to come to social to dismiss the dating rumors. 

Surfacing all over the media, a viral post claimed a soon-to-expect wedding bells for the couple. The post said: 

"It is being speculated that music composer Anirudh Ravichander and Kavya Maran – daughter of Sun TV’s Kalanithi Maran and owner of the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) IPL team – are in a relationship. Reports suggest that superstar Rajinikanth has personally spoken to Kalanithi Maran about their relationship, leading to expectations that the couple may tie the knot soon (sic)."

The singer squashing the gossip wrote to X (formerly Twitter): 

"Marriage ah? lol .. Chill out guys...please stop spreading rumours (sic)." He added a laughing emoji to express his amusement over the speculation.

Amid the controversy and gossip, the focus shifts back to the IPL 2026 Trade Window. With the deadline approaching, it will be interesting to see how involved Kavya stays in the SRH retention and released players ahead of the IPL mini auction 2026.
