Dona Ganguly files a complaint over derogatory social media comments [Source- Dona Ganguly/X.com]
Renowned Odissi dancer and Sourav Ganguly's wife, Dona Ganguly has decided to act upon the social media trolls and lodged a complaint over derogatory remarks directed towards her in recent days.
The incident took place after her recent performance at the Kolkata Film Festival, which was posted on Facebook by some unknown investigations and derogatory remarks and body-shaming comments were passed on her.
With her complaint at the Thakurpur police station, she has asked for urged the police for a swift investigation of the matter, while also sharing the screenshots and a mobile number linked to the aforementioned Facebook page.
Police provides details over Dona Ganguly's complaint
Reacting to the incident, the officers have ensured a quick resolution of the matter and revealed they are tracing the numbers and social media accounts under the scanner.
"She has described these acts as defamatory and stated that the posts were intended to tarnish her honour. We are working to identify the individuals responsible for the offensive posts. We are tracing the posts and the associated mobile number to identify the perpetrators," the police officer told PTI.
The 49-year-old famous dancer famously started to learn dance from Amala Shankar at the age of 3 before starting Odissi, which is said to be the oldest surviving Indian classical dance, origniated in the Odisha temples.
Over her career, she has performed all over India and at the World Expo, China, 2010, and also runs a dance school with a capacity of over 2000 students, named Diksha Manjiri.
She got married to the former BCCI chief in 1997, at just 21 and have a daughter with him, named Sana.
