As India clinched a nail-biting victory over Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025 semi-final, it wasn’t just the team’s on-field heroics that grabbed headlines. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan’s hilarious, superstitious antics, chronicled in a midnight blog post.

Much relatably, the blog post of Bachchan offered a relatable glimpse into the frenzy of cricket fandom, proving even legends aren’t immune to game-day jitters.

Bachchan’s Midnight Cricket Confessions

In a candid blog entry posted past midnight on Wednesday, the 82-year-old icon spilt details about his anxiety-ridden viewing routine during the high-stakes match.

“The Match .. cricket .. to decide the FINALS .. and all kinds of permutations and connotations begin to invade the mind and body. Should I see the game .. at times when the game is seen, we lose .. but defied that today .. so .. where to sit, how to sit .. one leg upon the other .. which leg which upon .. bending or stretched straight .. shoes on or off .. change the leg curl or not .. oh dear a wicket just fell .. no no no .. get back to the first leg over leg position.. HOLD.”

Bachchan's post, dripping with comedic urgency, resonated with fans worldwide as India grabbed a thrilling win to secure their spot for the finals of the Champions Trophy.

Bacchan Praises Team India's Grit

Once India sealed the win with eleven balls to spare, the actor’s tension melted into admiration.

“The victory was made in great style .. restrained controlled, no fear, no anxiety .. just the confidence of the team to WIN .. to hold on till the last few balls, and have the will and skill that the ball shall fly over the barrier and announce the WIN,” Bacchan gushed.

Waxing philosophical, Bachchan mused about the universal chaos of cricket fandom while concluding his blog post.

“In the finals now ..it’s past midnight, so it shall happen TODAY, and the routine shall begin again of where to sit, et al .. Even the greatest thinkers and philosophers profess ignorance on the mind matters for results,” he wrote, adding with a wink, “Homo Sapiens we be .. and we are different .. we have the largest brains and have the ability to absorb in intelligence all around us and about ..Particularly when we play cricket.”
