Pakistani pace sensation Shaheen Afridi recently walked into Zayka, a popular restaurant in Bicester, UK, for dinner with his family. He is in the UK to cheer on his father-in-law, Shahid Afridi, who is currently playing in the World Championship of Legends 2025 for Pakistan Champions.
Afridi has been dropped from the T20I squad, and hence he did not travel to Bangladesh for the 3-game series. However, he is using his free time to visit the UK and enjoy some of the famous and authentic places around the country.
Shaheen Afridi Visits Turkish Restaurant Zayka
According to Oxford Mail, 25-year-old fast bowler from Pakistan, Shaheen Afridi, was welcomed into Zayka, a Turkish-style restaurant situated in Bicester, United Kingdom.
Zayka is not just any restaurant; it is housed inside The King's Arms, Bicester’s oldest pub, dating back to 1681. Shaheen posed for photos with the staff, including managers Ahmed and Ali, adding a memorable moment for everyone at the restaurant.
The fast bowler has been taking a short break from the game to spend time with his family and support Shahid Afridi in the legends tournament, which runs from July 18 to August 2 at venues across the UK.
Will Shaheen Return In T20I Squad?
Shaheen Afridi was believed to be out of Pakistan’s T20 plans after missing out on the series against Bangladesh. Head coach Mike Hesson, talking to press, however, confirmed that the left-arm pacer is very much in the frame for the 2026 T20 World Cup. Hesson acknowledged Shaheen’s world-class ability but hinted at specific areas the pacer needs to improve. Overall, Afridi’s return seems a matter of form and readiness.
