Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli and his wife, Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma, are among the most admired couples from the worlds of cricket and cinema. Beyond their glamorous public image, the couple has embraced a more spiritual path in recent years, with regular visits to the Swami Dayananda Ashram in Rishikesh. 

The duo have also been seen at Neem Karoli Baba’s Ashram in Vrindavan and other religious sites across India. Commenting on this spiritual journey, motivational and spiritual speaker Jaya Kishori shared her thoughts with Instant Bollywood. 

Kisohri praises Kohli-Anushka's spirituality

Speaking to the agency, Jaya Kishori said Kohli and Anushka’s turn to spirituality was the true key to sustaining their fame and influence. 

“In total, a successful person is the one who goes on a spiritual path. Only then will he be able to bring peace in his success, his family, and everything. They already had everything — work, money, house — but they were missing that peace, which took them towards spirituality. They still have everything, but now they also have peace,” Kishori said.

While celebrities may appear dazzling in front of the media, Jaya noted, they often grapple with deep internal struggles that only spiritual guidance can address.

“Sometimes they feel emotionally unstable, then they try to come closer to God. Sometimes in work, you see, they are playing very well, sometimes they are not. Don’t think they have a perfect life, only they can tell you how their life is. But they are setting a very good example that when a materially successful person shows you that they also need spirituality for peace and satisfaction, it’s a big lesson for the world,” Kishori added.

Kishori appreciates the balance

She further praised the balance the Virat Kohli-Anushka Sharma couple has struck between spiritual growth and material success. 

"They didn’t leave everything — not their home, not their work, not their family. They balanced it all, and that balance comes from spirituality. This is what we call a complete life,” Kishori added.

Since Virat Kohli’s retirement from Test cricket in May, the couple has been living in London to focus on family life. While Virat has kept a low profile, he and Anushka are frequently spotted in the city with their children, Vamika and Akaay.
