Star Indian cricketer Virat Kohli remembered his late father, Prem Kohli, on the occasion of Father’s Day. In a heartfelt Instagram post, the cricketer shared that his father instilled in him never to depend on shortcuts, and he followed those teachings in his life.

Kohli was a teenager when his dad passed away. That day, he turned up to play a Ranji Trophy game for Delhi to save them from follow on and that moment still defines his mental strength and passion for the sport.

Virat Kohli Reveals Late Father’s Teachings In Emotional Support

On June 15, 2025, the world celebrated Father’s Day. Virat Kohli, whose father Prem Kohli had passed away years ago, remembered him in a tearful social media post.

On Instagram, he shared a deeply personal and inspiring Father’s Day post that’s resonating with fans across the world. Posting a minimal yet powerful note, Kohli reflected on a life lesson from his late father that shaped his career and character.

"He taught me to never rely on shortcuts or influence — because if you truly have it in you, hard work will show it. And if you don’t have the will to work for it, then maybe you don’t deserve it yet. When I was offered an easier path once, he refused it for me. With calm conviction, he said, “If you’re good enough, you’ll find your way. And if not, it’s better to know that early.” That one moment shaped how I live, work, and show up in the world. Happy Father’s Day to all the fathers whose quiet strength becomes our lifelong compass. ❤️

Despite having no cricketing background, Kohli decided to make it on his own after his father refused to use influence or shortcuts. The rest is history, as with honesty and sheer hard work, Virat Kohli went on to become one of the greatest batters to exist in Indian cricket’s history.

Kohli’s Daughter Writes Personalised Note On Father’s Day

Anushka Sharma dropped the cutest Father’s Day post of the year, and it’s not just about Virat Kohli or her dad. The spotlight was stolen by none other than their 4-year-old daughter, Vamika, who handcrafted a heartfelt greeting card for her father.

In her Instagram tribute on June 15, 2025, Anushka shared a pastel pink handwritten card from Vamika to Virat that read:

"He looks like my brother. He is funny. He tickles me. I play make up with him. I love him so much and he loves me this much (arms wide). Happy Father’s Day. — Vamika."

Vamika was born in January 2021, but Kohli and Anushka have protected their kids’ privacy by keeping them away from media lenses.
