KL Rahul Scripts History In DC vs GT Match
During the match, Rahul scored 143 runs, marking his fifth IPL century. He previously hit two centuries each while playing for Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), but hadn’t managed one while playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) or Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). This century was also his seventh overall in T20 cricket.
Notably, Rahul made history by becoming the fastest Indian to score 8,000 runs in T20 cricket, achieving this milestone in just 224 innings and breaking Virat Kohli’s long-standing record.
Despite Rahul’s impressive knock of 112 runs, Delhi Capitals lost the match. After setting a target of 200, they couldn’t stop Gujarat Titans, who chased down the total in just 19 overs without losing a single wicket. Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan led the charge, securing a 10-wicket win and making Gujarat the first team to qualify for the IPL 2025 playoffs.
Meanwhile, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) have also secured playoff spots, while Mumbai Indians (MI), Delhi Capitals (DC), and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) are battling for the final spot.
