Prominent movie actor Daggubati Venkatesh attended the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to witness India’s blockbuster World Cup 2023 semifinal clash against New Zealand. The Indian movie star also caught up with the legendary West Indies cricketer Viv Richards at the iconic venue, as the two enjoyed the proceedings from the stands.

Telugu movie actor Daggubati Venkatesh, who frequently attends Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) matches to extend his support for the IPL franchise, also attended the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai to cheer for Team India at the 2023 World Cup.

At the stadium, the cricket enthusiast also ran in with former West Indies batsman and all-time legend Sir Viv Richards. Venkatesh even posed alongside Richards for a selfie and shared the same on his social media accounts. In the caption, the Indian actor wrote:

“Delighted to be with the legendary Viv Richards at the #IndvsNZ Semi-final 😎❤️”

As it turned out, both Venkatesh and Viv Richards were greeted with a Virat Kohli batting masterclass at the stadium, considering the Indian cricketer dazzled with a scintillating 117-run knock at the grand stage. His innings, coupled with Shreyas Iyer’s thunderous ton and Rohit Sharma’s batting bombardment in the powerplay, guided Team India to a colossal 397-4 in their innings upfront.

Remarkably, Kohli shattered many huge batting records through the course of his knock. The cricketer listed his 50th ODI ton in the game to soar past legendary Sachin Tendulkar, tallying the highest number of centuries in the format. The 35-year-old also scaled past Tendulkar for scoring the most runs in a single edition of a World Cup, bettering the former batsman’s 673-run effort from the 2003 edition.
