Former actor turned movie critic Kamaal R Khan claimed it is not in Virat Kohli's luck to win an Indian Premier League (IPL) title and that he should consider dropping himself from Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for a year and do the franchise a favor.

Virat Kohli has been an integral part of RCB since its inception in 2008. Having secured the batter via draft, Kohli has been with RCB for 16 long years.

However, despite being one of the most prolific cricketers in the world, Virat has been unable to lead Royal Challengers Bengaluru to the trophy title.

While the batting stalwart relinquished captaincy a few years ago, he still remains the face and key anchor of the franchise.

Having said that, after RCB's recent loss to KKR in an IPL 2024 season game, movie critic Kamaal R Khan took a brutal jibe at Virat Kohli and shifted the blame for the IPL drought on his shoulders.

In a tweet, Khan wrote that after failing to win an IPL championship in 16 long years, Kohli should introspect and step down from the team for a year to experiment if RCB can win a title without him.

The movie critic added that perhaps Virat Kohli is bringing a bad omen to RCB as an IPL title is not written in his destiny.

That being said, an IPL title win cannot define Virat Kohli's achievements in RCB. He has been one of the highest scorers for the franchise over the years, and even in the recent KKR game, he finished with an 83-run knock.

However, despite his individual brilliance and unwavering commitment to the team's cause, Kohli has yet to taste the ultimate success in IPL, a fact that has been a source of frustration for both him and the RCB faithful.
