As India prepares to clash with New Zealand in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final today, spiritual fervour has merged with cricket fever. Saints and pundits have arranged pujas in different parts of the country for the team's win.
Consequently, a recent video of Sadhus conducting a grand havan and seeking divine blessings for Rohit Sharma’s men to lift the trophy in Dubai surfaced online and went viral.
Haavan for Victory!
This isn’t the first time Uttar Pradesh has turned into a hub of spiritual support for Team India. Ahead of the semi-final against Australia, similar rituals were performed in Varanasi, with fans attributing India’s dominant win to the cosmic intervention.
Today, the chants of Vedic mantras echoed louder, as saffron-clad sadhus held up photos of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and the Indian squad during the ceremony.
With the whole of the nation rallying behind Rohit's men, the havan seemed like the nation’s collective heartbeat.
The ceremony saw offerings of ghee, herbs, and grains poured into the holy fire, symbolizing the burning away of obstacles. Priests recited verses invoking strength, focus, and unity for the players.
The Final Showdown
The Champions Trophy final, set for March 9 at Dubai International Stadium at 2:30 PM IST, is a high-stakes rematch of the 2000 edition. India, unbeaten in the tournament, faces the BlackCaps in all their might.
While analysts debate tactics, Ayodhya's faithful believe the havan has tipped the scales. As the sacred smoke rises, 1.4 billion hopes now rest on Dubai’s pitch.
