In a major announcement from the Women’s Premier League, iconic Indian singer, songwriter, and record producer Daler Mehndi will perform live during the mid-innings entertainment slot on January 16.

Notably, Mehndi will take the stage at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, where Royal Challengers Bengaluru Women will face Gujarat Giants Women on the same day.

The Indian Indi-pop pioneer, who rose to fame with his record-breaking debut album Bolo Ta Ra Ra in 1995, is set to light up the stadium during the innings break, probably between 9 PM and 9:20 PM IST.

The official social media page of WPL dropped the announcement with the caption, "January 16. When the dhol drops, the stadium erupts 🥁🔥Daler Mehndi brings iconic Punjabi energy to the mid-innings act at #TATAWPL – Season 4, turning the break into a full-on celebration!"

With the Women’s Premier League already off to a high-energy start, Daler Mehndi’s catchy Punjabi beats and lively stage presence are expected to add to the festive atmosphere for fans in attendance.

Tickets for the match, which also grant access to the mid-innings performance, are being sold online via District by Zomato. Offline ticket sales are also available at the DY Patil Stadium counters.

Interested fans can visit the official District website, search for TATA WPL 2026 Match 9, and book their tickets. The ticket price has been set at ₹100, with most seats already filled.

The 58-year-old singer, Mehndi, is expected to dazzle the crowd with his signature hits, with fans likely to dance along to classics such as Tunak Tunak Tun, Bolo Ta Ra Ra, and Ho Jaayengi Balle Balle.

Such grand celebrations have become a familiar feature of the WPL. The opening ceremony of the WPL 2026 season featured Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez and popular rapper-singer and music producer Honey Singh, an event that caused a 10-minute delay to the inaugural match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians.
