The women's Premier League (WPL) is modelled after the success of the Indian Premier League (IPL) for men in the cricketing world. The IPL, known for its high-intensity T20I cricket and star-studded lineups, has been immensely successful in promoting cricket and providing a platform for domestic and international players to showcase their talent.

Women's Premier League marks a significant development in women's cricket, providing a platform for female players to showcase their talents in the T20I format. With the support of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), the WPL has the potential to grow and further popularize women's cricket across India.

The first edition of the Women’s Premier League was played in January 2026. Five teams were formed in the WPL '26: Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Giants, Delhi Capitals and UP Warriorz.

At OneCricket, lets take a look at the Women's Premier League Teams 2026.
