In a nation like India, fans eat, sleep and breathe in cricket. After professional cricket, the game has entered into the entertainment arena as the EBG group has launched the Tollywood Pro League in Hyderabad.
Fans are set to experience their favorite stars like never before, exploring a whole new dimension of entertainment. After the launch, the chairman of the EBG group, spoke about his unique initiative.
TPL enters cricket arena promising endless entertainment
Cricket, which was invented in the longest format, evolved through time. Crossing the hardcore sports world, the game has stepped into the entertainment stage where fans can enjoy cricketing madness along with a whole lot of entertainment. Adding a new addition into this, the EBG Group launched the Tollywood Pro League. The league was launched exclusively for the Telugu film industry.
The launching event brought the biggest stars of the country together. The veteran film producer Dil Raju launched the tournament but stars like Suresh Raina, Virender Sehwag and even the World Cup winning captain Kapil Dev.
Adding a cinematic touch into the league, film personalities Ashish Vidyarthi, Dino Morea and a few other stars marked their presence. The tournament will feature six franchise-based teams competing across two seasons each year, promising fans an action-packed and thrilling cricketing spectacle.

As the new tournament fans will see a merge of cricketing excitement along with fan zone activities. Ahead of the league goes on the big stage, the Founder and Chairman of EBG Group, Dr. Irfan Khan shared his feelings.
“Tollywood Pro League is not just a cricket tournament; it is a cultural movement built on dignity, structure and long-term vision. With TPL, our intent is to create a world-class platform that celebrates the Telugu film fraternity, strengthens unity within the industry and delivers a premium sports and entertainment experience for fans across the country. A defining pillar of the league is Alai Balai—an inclusion-led movement within TPL that ensures representation across every craft of the Telugu film industry,” he said.
