In a world full of flashy celebrity moments, sometimes the most heartwarming ones are the simplest. That's exactly what happened at the Mumbai airport recently, when cricketer Shreyas Iyer and star kid Ibrahim Ali Khan had a wholesome and unexpected reunion that's now going viral.

The scene began with Iyer, ever the crowd favourite, surrounded by fans. He was busy signing autographs and posing for photos, completely focused on the people who supported him. Little did he know, a sweet surprise was just moments away.

Cinema royalty collides with cricket royalty in a blockbuster crossover

Suddenly, Saif Ali Khan's son Ibrahim Ali Khan, who himself is an actor, pushed his way through the crowd wearing a fashionable black attire. In a spontaneous and friendly gesture, he hugged Shreyas Iyer from behind, wrapping his arm around his neck.

Shreyas, obviously taken aback but pleased, began laughing right away. The two then had a real moment of friendship. They chatted and laughed, catching up like old friends. The cameras captured every bit of their candid conversation.

Before they parted ways, Ibrahim gave Shreyas another warm hug. Interestingly, both Shreyas and Ibrahim were spotted twinning in black, a simple and classic choice that made them look even more in sync.

Shreyas Iyer lands in Mumbai after leaving the India A series

Till earlier this week, Shreyas Iyer was in Lucknow, leading India A in an unofficial Test series against Australia A. However, just ahead of the second game, he left the city and withdrew from the match, prompting Dhruv Jurel to fill in the leadership shoes.

Not only that, reports suggest Iyer is not fit and is struggling with back issues. Hence, he reportedly asked the BCCI for an indefinite break from red-ball cricket, putting his future in jeopardy.
